1. What's included
- Serving & hosting: staffing your buffet line, plating and passing, table service, drink stations.
- Warming & holding: bringing food prepared by your chosen kitchen to serving temperature and holding it there, using the venue's or client's warming equipment (or equipment listed in the booking confirmation).
- Setup & teardown: buffet lines, serving stations, dessert tables — set before guests arrive, packed down after they leave.
- Day-of coordination: timing courses, restocking trays, and handling the small emergencies so the host doesn't have to.
2. What's deliberately excluded
- Cooking, preparing, or producing any catering food, at the event or beforehand.
- Sourcing or subcontracting food on your behalf — you choose and contract your kitchen or caterer directly.
- Transporting food, unless expressly listed in the written booking confirmation.
- Any representation that Jacara is a licensed caterer or food producer for the food served at your event.
3. Where responsibility sits
Responsibility for the preparation, safety, and quality of food Jacara did not bake stays with whoever prepared it — you, your family, or your chosen licensed kitchen or caterer. Jacara is responsible for performing the service she was booked for: showing up on time, handling the food she's given with care, and running your event the way she'd run her own family's.
Baked goods from her own oven can absolutely appear at your event — those are sold separately as cottage food products under the Cottage Food Disclosures, labeled and everything.
4. Booking
- Every booking is confirmed in writing with the date, venue, hours, headcount, who is preparing the food, and the price.
- A retainer may be required; cancellations and rescheduling follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5. Why the scope is drawn this way
Because honesty scales better than paperwork. By keeping food production with licensed kitchens and keeping her role pure service, every party knows exactly what they're getting and who stands behind what. It's also why her clients trust her — the line has never once been blurred.
