Jacara 1. Where your food is made
Jacara's baked goods are produced in her licensed home kitchen in Marietta, Georgia, under Georgia's Cottage Food Rules — the state's framework for home-kitchen food businesses, administered by the Georgia Department of Agriculture (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. Chapter 40-7-19). Every package you receive carries the statement the rules require:
That statement is printed conspicuously on every label, exactly as Rule 40-7-19-.09 prescribes. It's not fine print to hide — it's the honest description of what a cottage food kitchen is.

Jacara holds Georgia Cottage Food License CFL-076-25, issued by the Georgia Department of Agriculture after application review and home-kitchen evaluation (Rule 40-7-19-.06). The license covers food sales operations only, which is exactly how it's used.
2. What every label tells you
Packaged items are labeled per Rule 40-7-19-.09 with:
- the business name and the operator's address;
- the common name of the product;
- the ingredients, in descending order by weight;
- the net weight or volume;
- allergen labeling as specified by FDA requirements; and
- the cottage food statement shown above.
Custom items sold directly to you (a wedding cake, a birthday cake) carry the business name, address, and the cottage food statement on the package, as the rule specifies for custom direct sales.
3. Allergens
This is a single home kitchen, not a segregated facility. It routinely works with wheat, milk, butter, eggs, soy, peanuts, and tree nuts — so no product can be guaranteed free of any allergen, even when it isn't an ingredient. Tell Jacara about the allergies at your table when you order, and always read the label before serving.
4. What a cottage food kitchen may and may not do
- Only non-potentially-hazardous foods are produced — the shelf-stable bakes this kitchen is known for (Rule 40-7-19-.05).
- Sales are direct to the consumer only. No wholesale, no resale, no distribution to restaurants, hotels, or institutions — and that's why there's no mail-order shipping (see Pickup & Delivery).
- Only products registered with the state program are produced and sold.
5. Catering is a separate, non-food offering
Jacara's event catering is service only — serving, setup, warming, and holding of food prepared elsewhere. It is not food production and sits entirely outside the cottage food program; the full scope is in the Catering Service Scope.
